Gareth Hoskins is a cultural and historical geographer based at Aberystwyth University. His research interests include the politics of memory, heritage and preservation. He has written about theories of identity, race, cultural value and narrative, as well as on environmental histories of industrial/toxic heritage in the US and the UK.
His most recent research has been on indigenous erasure in settler colonial nature-writing, the cultural and political staging of meteorite impact craters on Earth, and the struggles over the commemoration of British imperialism in Wales and the Caribbean.
