Call for abstracts
We invite you to submit an abstract (500 words) for a 10 minuteÌýpaperÌýwhich explores an element of your methodological thinking.ÌýÌýInÌýparticularÌýwe welcomeÌýcontributions thatÌýdo one of the following:Ìý
- Critically examineÌýpositionality through methods. You might considerÌýhow yourÌýresearcherÌýidentity, power relations, and disciplinary locations become visible in methodological choices,ÌýandÌýaskÌýhow these shape knowledge productionÌý
- ExamineÌýcreative and participatory methods,Ìýperhaps considering howÌýways these approaches disrupt conventional notions of rigourÌýÌý
- ExploreÌýethical considerations inÌýresearch,Ìýperhaps consideringÌýhow ethics is lived and enactedÌýinÌýmethods rather than resolved through procedural approval aloneÌý
- Present approaches toÌýdataÌýanalysis. This could include presentations of diverse approaches to data analysis;Ìýreflective accounts of working with creative data;ÌýorÌýexplorations ofÌýthe tensionsÌýyou haveÌýfacedÌýwhen translatingÌýdataÌýinto academic argumentsÌý
Reviewing criteria
Submissions will be reviewing against the following criteria:
- Clarity of the focus of the researchÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
- Clarity and justifications of methods and methodologies
- Depth of reflection on the making of the researcher
- Relevance of the issue to other doctoral researchers or ECRs
