Trevor Mutton, Professor

Professor (Emeritus) at University of Oxford

Trevor Mutton is Emeritus Professor of Teacher Education at the University of Oxford. He taught modern languages for many years before taking up a post at Oxford in 1997. His research focuses on beginning teachers’ learning and teacher education policy and practice, both in the UK and internationally, and he is particularly interested in the way in which collaborative teacher education partnerships seek to integrate theory and practice within programmes of initial teacher education. He has been Deputy Editor of Journal of Education for Teaching of a number of years and was Vice-Chair of UCET from 2019 to 2022.
