Dr Estelia Bórquez Sánchez is a researcher at the University of Glasgow and has recently joined King’s College London, UK. She earned her PhD in Science Education from the University of York after a distinguished career in teaching and research at universities in southern Chile. Her research interests include science education, environmental education, curriculum development, assessment, learning progression, and promoting social justice through scientific literacy. She primarily focuses on biology teaching, assessment, and the enhancement of evidence-based thinking within education systems. She is also the Chair of the AEA Special Interest Group (SIG) for Early Career Researchers, where she promotes the development and visibility of emerging PhD students and early-career researchers in the field.
