Elizabeth Hilditch

PhD Student at University of Nottingham

Elizabeth Hilditch is a PhD student at the University of Nottingham. Her research interest is the mental health impact on refugees and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children of being out of education. Elizabeth began her teaching career 25 years ago and has since worked as an Achievement and Equality local authority consultant and psychotherapist. She has worked with students with English as an Additional Language and sanctuary seekers since 2005, and in 2018 was part of the team to establish a bespoke provision for young refugees and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) aged 15–19 in Nottingham. This is where she established a counselling provision and where she continues to practise as a psychotherapist.
