Dr Shirley Ann Gauci is a Senior Lecturer and research supervisor at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. Her research is situated within early childhood education and care, with a particular focus on qualitative and interpretive inquiry, curriculum change, relational pedagogy, children鈥檚 agency, inclusive practice and educational leadership. She has led and contributed to national and international research projects examining educational reculturing, thinking-based pedagogy, educator professional formation and culturally responsive practice. She was Principal Investigator of SELBI, a Xjenza Malta-funded project that explored the integration of blue skills and generative artificial intelligence in early childhood education. Her work is informed by sociocultural and interpretivist perspectives and seeks to strengthen the relationship between research, pedagogy, professional practice and educational change.
