I am a researcher and educator specialising in affective-sexual education and participatory visual methodologies. My research explores how teachers understand and approach affective-sexual education, examining the paradigms that shape their perspectives on gender, sexuality, and equality. Using participatory visual methods such as photovoice, collage, and group drawing, I investigate how these paradigms influence teaching practices and whether they challenge or reinforce cisheteronormativity.

With a background in Primary School Education and Sexual Dissidence, I have worked closely with teachers, facilitating discussions on the hidden curriculum, emotional management, and the socio-political challenges of implementing inclusive education in Spain. My work highlights the barriers educators face—including institutional constraints, emotional discomfort, and concerns about backlash—while also identifying possibilities for more inclusive and transformative pedagogical approaches.

Beyond research, I design professional development programmes that help teachers navigate affective-sexual education with confidence and inclusivity. I am particularly interested in how participatory approaches encourage reflexivity, providing spaces where educators can critically examine and reshape their own beliefs in collaborative and creative ways.

My work seeks to contribute to global conversations on teacher education by challenging standard models and advocating for approaches that centre justice, emotional awareness, and inclusivity. Through research and practice, I aim to support educators in fostering classroom environments that move beyond tolerance to actively promote equity and belonging.
