Joanne Quinn is an international consultant, speaker and author on learning, leadership and system change. As co-founder and Global Director of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning, she leads a global innovation partnership focused on transforming learning.聽 Joanne has consulted with governments, school systems, foundations and policy makers across Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, North America and South America.
Joanne has provided leadership at all levels of education as a principal and superintendent of education, Implementation Advisor on Education Reform to the Ontario Ministry of Education and Director of Continuing Education at the University of Toronto. Joanne has led Whole System Change projects that build the collective capacity of organizations.聽
As Global Director of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL) Joanne leads a partnership of 10 countries: Australia, Canada, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan,聽 Netherlands, New Zealand, Taiwan, United States and Uruguay. Educators are collaborating to activate powerful, student centered, real-world learning by fostering six Global Competencies. The comprehensive solution to reimagining learning is supported by a set of tools, measures and planning processes that enables schools, municipalities and systems to shift practice and impact well-being and equity
Recent books include: Coherence: The Right Drivers in Action for Schools, Districts and Systems (2016); The Taking Action Guide for Building Coherence (2016); Deep Learning, Engage the World Change the World (2018) and Dive into Deep Learning: Tools for Engagement (2020)聽 Her most recent publication in collaboration with UNESCO and Microsoft, Education Reimagined: The Future of Learning-June 2020, captures the complexities of the current pandemic and proposes a pathway to build a better future where all students flourish. 聽聽
