My research focuses on how prison teachers perceive themselves as professionals, examining their sense of status, career progression, and belonging within the wider education sector. By investigating their lived experiences, I aim to give voice to a group that is often overlooked and to deepen understanding of the unique challenges and rewards of teaching in prison.
